PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ace Espinoza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joey Rodinerio Bravo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Espinoza comes into the arena with krolithika blaring out of the sound system. Bravo has chosen Damian Marley - Confrontation as his entrance music. Ace Espinoza has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 1, fighting out of London, Ace Espinoza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joey Rodinerio Bravo !
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bravo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Espinoza wants to control but Bravo is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Espinoza keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Espinoza is trying to control but can't.
Bravo works his way into side control.
Bravo taking a breather here.
Espinoza can't do much from the bottom here.

Bravo goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Espinoza rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Bravo 's guard! Nice work there by Espinoza!

Bravo is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Espinoza to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Espinoza shrugs it off.
Espinoza is looking to improve his position but Bravo isn't that keen on the idea.
Espinoza is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Espinoza is working to get back to half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bravo tries to push Espinoza's head away but Espinoza is holding on tight.
Espinoza is looking to improve his position but Bravo isn't that keen on the idea.

Espinoza is desperately trying to improve his position but Bravo has a good base and remains in mount.
Bravo wants to control the pace but Espinoza is squirming around nicely.

Bravo has hold of Espinoza's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Espinoza manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Bravo goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Espinoza turns into him and now he's in Bravo 's guard.

Joey Rodinerio Bravo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Bravo moves away from the strike by Espinoza.
Espinoza throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Espinoza struggles to land a body shot inside as Bravo controls his hands.

Bravo tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Espinoza smiles and moves away.
Bravo closes the distance and clinches up with Espinoza, looking for a takedown. Bravo pushes Espinoza against the cage but Espinoza circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Espinoza misses with a low kick as Bravo jumps back.

Espinoza tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bravo was well out of range. Poor timing from Espinoza.

A solid leg kick lands there for Espinoza.
Espinoza circles away from the clinch attempt.

and Bravo counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Joey Rodinerio Bravo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bravo shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Espinoza manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Bravo shoots in but Espinoza avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Ace Espinoza has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joey Rodinerio Bravo .

Bravo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Espinoza sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bravo somewhat.
Espinoza rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bravo moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bravo shoots in but Espinoza avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Ace Espinoza is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bravo wants to clinch
and Espinoza counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Bravo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
