Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Thor Emelianenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Johannes Skaft!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skaft fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Emelianenko, pushing him back against the cage.
Skaft stops a takedown attempt from Emelianenko.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Emelianenko.
Emelianenko goes for a takedown attempt but Skaft pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Emelianenko has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
It looks like Thor Emelianenko has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Skaft looks to land a combination but Emelianenko avoids it well.
Skaft throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Emelianenko.
Skaft connects with a stiff jab that staggers Emelianenko - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Johannes Skaft!
A relieved looking Johannes Skaft thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
