Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ankur Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Connor MacManus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ankur Khan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Connor MacManus!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan throws a low kick but MacManus avoids it.
Khan moves in looking to clinch but MacManus pushes him off.
Sloppy strikes from MacManus. Those never looked like landing.
Khan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but MacManus manages to avoid it.

MacManus darts in and clinches Khan up against the cage.
Khan lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Khan has a couple of punches blocked by MacManus.

MacManus successfully pulls guard.
Khan trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
MacManus avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Khan keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of MacManus's head.
Khan in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
MacManus keeping moving, preventing Khan from controlling successfully.
MacManus has Khan pulled in close to control his posture.

That's one minute gone in the round.
MacManus utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
MacManus wants to get back to his feet but Khan is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Khan is looking to chop away at MacManus's legs.
Nice jab there from MacManus.
MacManus throws a series of punches but Khan moves out of range.
MacManus avoids a punch combination nicely.
Khan moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
MacManus tries to clinch up but Khan circles away and keeps his distance.

MacManus moves into the clinch successfully.
MacManus looking to stall.
Khan tries to throw a body punch but MacManus avoids it by throwing Khan back against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
MacManus tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Khan smiles and moves away.
Khan fakes a jab and throws a low kick but MacManus checks it well.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Khan scores with a shoulder strike.
Come on MacManus - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
MacManus tries to break free but Khan pushes him back against the cage.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Khan creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Khan lands a hook that snaps the head of MacManus backwards.
MacManus tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Khan just stands there and leans against the cage.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by MacManus as Khan tries to tie him up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Khan throws a punch but it's blocked by MacManus.
MacManus tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Khan smiles and moves away.
Ankur Khan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Connor MacManus.
Khan wants to slow MacManus down by chopping away at his legs.
Khan lands a straight punch to the body, keeping MacManus at a distance.
MacManus lands a nice looking body kick.

MacManus gets a takedown into half guard.
Khan wants to control but MacManus is keeping busy.
MacManus is keen to just control but Khan is a slippery customer.
MacManus is pressing down on Khan's thigh, looking to free his foot. Khan is holding on for now.
Khan is trying to maintain the position but MacManus is very close to passing his half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
MacManus keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Connor MacManus hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Khan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Khan gets a clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
MacManus jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Khan walks away with a smile on his face. MacManus gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Khan tries to clinch up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

MacManus gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Khan swings away with an uppercut that misses.
MacManus takes a shot to the head.
MacManus is trying to maintain a safe position but Khan gets an underhook and turns MacManus into the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Connor MacManus will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


MacManus misses with a body punch
and Khan counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Khan has closed the distance and engaged MacManus in a clinch.
MacManus tries to pull guard but Khan forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
MacManus blocks a body shot from Khan.
Khan works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
MacManus blocking some punches.
Khan tries to work over MacManus's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
MacManus with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
A bit of stalling here from Khan.
MacManus avoids a wild elbow strike from Khan.
Khan pushes MacManus back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Good body shot from Khan.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
MacManus fails to pull guard.
MacManus misses with a hook to the ribs.
Khan goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Khan.

Khan makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.


MacManus is rocked!
Khan creates some distance for himselfand unleashes a massive uppercut that sends MacManus's eyes rolling into the back of his head! MacManus drops to his knees and Khan pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ankur Khan!
