PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kenkashi Mazuke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Craig Clendennon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clendennon has chosen LoFidelity Allstars - Battleflag as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kenkashi Mazuke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Craig Clendennon!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clendennon throws a leg kick but Mazuke sees it coming and moves out of range.
Craig Clendennon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A decent looking cross lands there for Clendennon.
Clendennon ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mazuke moves away.
Mazuke shoots in for a takedown but Clendennon shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Clendennon cracks the inside of Mazuke's front leg.
Clendennon throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Clendennon tries to close the distance and clinch but Mazuke swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The fighters circling - Clendennon throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Clendennon takes the fight into the clinch.

Mazuke has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Clendennon after a bit of a struggle.
Mazuke wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kenkashi Mazuke. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Clendennon lands an elbow just above Mazuke 's eye.


It looks like Kenkashi Mazuke has been cut.
Mazuke blocks an elbow strike.
Clendennon throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Clendennon creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Mazuke is looking for a takedown.

Mazuke has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Clendennon regains guard immediately.

Mazuke drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Clendennon dives on top into guard.
Clendennon looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Mazuke is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Clendennon defends well.

Clendennon engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Mazuke looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Clendennon passes into side control.

Clendennon avoids the strikes from the bottom by Mazuke.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mazuke is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The referee asks Clendennon politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Clendennon prefers to stall for the moment though.
Mazuke tries to improve position but can't.
Mazuke struggling a bit here.
You can see the frustration on Mazuke's face as Clendennon controls the position.
Mazuke is looking to reverse the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mazuke manages to get back to half guard.

Still in half guard, Clendennon seems content to control.
Clendennon wants to pass the guard but Mazuke is defending well.

Clendennon with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Clendennon works his way into side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mazuke tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Clendennon wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Mazuke shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Clendennon but Clendennon pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Mazuke takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Mazuke shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Clendennon sprawls well. Clendennon wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mazuke gets slowly back to his feet.
Mazuke avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Clendennon moves in looking to clinch but Mazuke pushes him off.
Clendennon tries to clinch there but Mazuke circles away.
Mazuke shoots in looking for a takedown. Clendennon tries to sprawl out of it but Mazuke keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Clendennon manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kenkashi Mazuke. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mazuke shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Clendennon defends it nicely.

Mazuke shoots in but no luck this time.
Clendennon throws a series of punches but Mazuke avoids them all with ease.
Clendennon scores with a jab.
Craig Clendennon is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Mazuke moves forwards but Clendennon connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Clendennon darts in and clinches Mazuke up against the cage.
Nice elbow from Clendennon.


Mazuke is rocked!
Clendennon comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Oh Mazuke is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Clendennon scores a nice knee to the body.

Kenkashi Mazuke's cut is getting worse.
Clendennon lands a big knee to the head and Mazuke goes down! Clendennon pounces and finishes the fight with strikes! He jumps to his feet and celebrates with the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Craig Clendennon!
After winning the bout, Craig Clendennon thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
