Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darrian Ashoka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rashad Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Evans is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: j. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Darrian Ashoka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

14 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rashad Evans!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ashoka fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Evans has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Evans fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ashoka manages to avoid it.
Evans jabs Ashoka to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Ashoka throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Evans takes a kick to the side of the head.
Ashoka throws a front kick aimed at Evans's knee but Evans avoids it well.
Evans takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A looping hook to the body misses from Evans. Ashoka does a little dance to reset his feet.
Evans misses with a wild combination.
Ashoka avoids the body shot from Evans.
Ashoka cracks Evans with a good jab.
Ashoka throws a head kick that Evans semi-blocks.
It looks like Rashad Evans has been cut.
Evans checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Rashad Evans seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ashoka connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Ashoka looks to throw a body kick
and Evans makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Ashoka lands with a thumping leg kick.

Evans jabs Ashoka right on the nose. Ashoka blinks but takes it well.
Evans misses with a takedown attempt - Ashoka sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Ashoka scores with a punch to the head.
Evans connects with a single shot there.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Evans.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Ashoka dodges the ground and pound from Evans.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ashoka is looking to control Evans's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ashoka avoid being mounted?
Evans is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Evans fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Ashoka is rocked!
Ashoka wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Evans.
Ashoka is desperately trying to improve his position but Evans has a good base and remains in mount.

Evans sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Evans lands with some strikes.
Evans wants to control the pace but Ashoka is squirming around nicely.
Evans prevents Ashoka from getting the reversal.
Ashoka tries to hold on but Evans pushes him away.

Evans has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Ashoka's face.

Evans is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Ashoka goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Evans!

An out of breath Rashad Evans thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
