The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hero misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hero gets caught napping as Bom dives in and scores a takedown. Hero manages to retain guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Hero wants to sweep but no luck.
Bom loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Bom throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hero works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bom with a nice head shot there.
Bom postures up in Hero's guard and throws a big left but Hero blocks it.
Bom cracks Hero with a solid left hand.
Bom has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hero is looking to sinch up a triangle. Bom throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Hero's body to avoid the submission. Hero has instead reached around Bom's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Hero arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
