Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Phil Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aleluia Sarango (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aleluia Sarango will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Aleluia Sarango!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harris shoots in but Sarango avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Sarango clinches up against the cage.
Harris is looking to take this one to the mat.
The referee calls for Harris to work.
Harris goes for a takedown attempt but Sarango pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Sarango throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

That was a close round but I would say that Phil Harris will probably get the nod.

Harris has Sarango pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Harris pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Sarango tumbling to the mat - Harris dives into Sarango's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sarango has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Harris can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Harris thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Sarango tries to get to full guard but Harris has control of the leg.
Sarango wants to get back to his feet.

Harris is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Sarango has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Harris is working away from the top position though.

Harris is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Harris is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sarango is just riding it out for now. Harris eventually gives up the hold.

Harris is working for a kimura but Sarango is defending it quite comfortably.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Phil Harris will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Sarango shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Harris pinned against the cage. Harris gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Harris counters with a shoot takedown. Sarango fights it but they end up in guard.

Harris drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sarango looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sarango looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sarango!

Harris is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Sarango is controlling him well.

Harris is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Harris manages to work his way to half guard, despite Sarango's best efforts.
Sarango thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Harris's head.
Sarango not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Harris is refusing to be controlled, as Sarango sits in half guard.
Harris holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Sarango is stalling here. Harris is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Sarango seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Harris has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Harris is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sarango has escaped the position, nice work there.
Sarango can't do much from the bottom here.

Sarango takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sarango tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Harris wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Harris lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Harris wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sarango, who protects the arm well.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Harris has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Sarango is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Harris yanks on the arm and Sarango is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Harris.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Phil Harris!
After winning the bout, Phil Harris thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
