Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Lipsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Charles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lipsky's entrance music is Comme Un Enfante. A fine choice. Charles is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Muddy Waters- Hoochie Coochie Man. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 14 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Matt Lipsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ray Charles!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lipsky misses with a body kick.
Lipsky misses with an attempted mid kick.
Matt Lipsky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Charles slips a straight right by Lipsky.
Charles shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lipsky as he avoids it easily.
Some wild striking there from Charles.
Lipsky throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Charles bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Charles looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Lipsky is avoiding damage well.
Charles in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lipsky wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee asks Charles politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Charles prefers to stall for the moment though.

Lipsky knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Charles on the ground.

Charles connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Lipsky some visible discomfort.
Lipsky takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Charles connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Lipsky some visible discomfort.

Charles has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Charles misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Charles scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Lipsky to see if he's OK.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Ray Charles wasn't active enough on the ground.
Charles shoots in but Lipsky avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Charles drives through with a takedown into Lipsky's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Charles is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Lipsky has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Charles finds it's way round the side to connect with Lipsky's head.

A punch lands to the side of Lipsky 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Charles scores with a jab. Lipsky acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A left lands for Charles.
Charles tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lipsky was well out of range. Poor timing from Charles.
Charles thuds a left hand into Lipsky's body.
Matt Lipsky is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Charles connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Lipsky momentarily.
Charles has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Charles looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Lipsky!

Ray Charles showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Lipsky moves out of range as Charles strikes.
Charles ducks under a wild hook from Lipsky.
Nice takedown defense from Lipsky. No joy for Charles on that attempt.
Charles throws a right and a left that Lipsky avoids nicely.
Lipsky slips a jab and a cross from Charles.
Charles throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lipsky lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Charles shoots in and drives through. Lipsky sprawls well.

Charles pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Charles rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lipsky moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Charles blocks the body kick.
Charles scores with a nice right hand.
Lipsky leaves Charles with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Matt Lipsky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ray Charles.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Charles has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Lipsky clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Charles thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
Charles is punishing Lipsky with some ground and pound.
Charles is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Lipsky controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
Charles throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
Ray Charles is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Charles is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Ray Charles.
Lipsky throws out a leg kick but Charles moves out of range and Lipsky only half commits.
Charles scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Charles fails with a takedown attempt.
Lipsky pivots, looking for a leg kick but Charles is out of range and Lipsky settles back down.
Lipsky steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Charles.

Charles throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lipsky was covering up waiting for the punch and Charles finishes the takedown easily into guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Charles tries to free his leg and advance position but Lipsky is retaining full guard.

Ray Charles comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Charles winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
