Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kurt Tebo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bad Religion! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tebo closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Religion did well to prevent Tebo getting side control. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Religion trying to control here.
Religion is refusing to be controlled, as Tebo sits in half guard. Religion trying to hold on to Tebo's head to control him but Tebo postures up.
Religion is controlling Tebo's trapped leg to prevent Tebo from advancing to side control. Religion is looking to escape. Religion tries to get to full guard but Tebo has control of the leg.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Bad Religion was stalling too much, according to the referee. Tebo gets the takedown into side control. Tebo tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Religion tries to improve position but can't. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tebo is chipping away with strikes.
Religion is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Tebo is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Religion is bucking up trying to escape but Tebo cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Religion is wriggling around trying to escape.

Tebo is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Tebo throwing strikes but missing. Religion trying to control the position.
Religion is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tebo defends well. This has been an exciting period of action! Tebo drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Religion dives on top into guard.

Tebo is aware though and is defending well. Tebo postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Tebo slips nicely into half guard. Tebo is trying to control. Tebo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Religion can't escape the position.

Tebo shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Tebo was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Religion is wriggling around trying to escape.

Tebo controlling the pace for now. Tebo lands a big shot there that rocks Religion but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Religion sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Religion wants to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Religion wants to control but Tebo is keeping busy and won't allow it. Religion won't allow Tebo to pass to mount. Kurt Tebo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Religion punching from the bottom.
Religion is looking to control Tebo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Religion avoid being mounted? Tebo is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Tebo slows the pace down in half guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Tebo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Religion does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kurt Tebo wasn't doing enough on the ground. Religion drops his hands momentarily and Tebo takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Religion will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Religion scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The fighters are battling for position here. Tebo manages to regain full guard. Nice work. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Religion lands a couple of decent looking shots. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Religion shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tebo as he jumps to the side. Tebo blocks a head kick by Religion.
Tebo closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Religion quickly recovers to half guard. Religion is looking for a sweep. Tebo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Tebo is looking to take a break and control but Religion is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Religion wants to get back to his feet.
Tebo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Religion doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Tebo. Religion slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Tebo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Religion is pulling down on Tebo's head. It's preventing any offense from Tebo, at least for the moment. Religion wants to improve his position but instead Tebo has moved into half guard.

Religion seems to be working for a kimura but Tebo defends the submission attempt. Religion throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Kurt Tebo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Tebo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Tebo is working hard here to advance position. Bad Religion has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Religion with a flurry of punches that miss.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kurt Tebo. Well Tebo has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
