Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shim Changmin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saku Katsumoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shim Changmin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Saku Katsumoto!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Shimada and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Katsumoto throws an off balance right hand
and Changmin counters with a straight right hand.
A looping hook to the body misses from Katsumoto. Changmin does a little dance to reset his feet.
Katsumoto moves away from the strike by Changmin.
Changmin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Katsumoto ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Changmin moves away.
Katsumoto tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Changmin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Changmin slips a jab and a cross from Katsumoto.

Katsumoto ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Katsumoto changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Changmin tries to avoid it but Katsumoto manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Changmin to the ground. Changmin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Katsumoto uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Changmin.
Changmin moves out of range as Katsumoto strikes.

and Changmin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Changmin counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Katsumoto thinking.
Katsumoto dives in and grabs Changmin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Changmin pushes down on Katsumoto's head and hops out.

That was a close round but I would say that Shim Changmin will probably get the nod.

Katsumoto throws a nice looking combination but Changmin bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Changmin connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Katsumoto momentarily.

A close second round but Saku Katsumoto will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Katsumoto drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Katsumoto jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Changmin is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Changmin is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

I would just about give that final round to Saku Katsumoto.
