Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marcelo Zozzi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pablo Escobar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcelo Zozzi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pablo Escobar!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Daniel Cesar and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Escobar.
Escobar tries to close the distance and clinch up but Zozzi swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Escobar counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Zozzi is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Escobar fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Zozzi has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
The fight stays on the outside here - Escobar looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Zozzi closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Zozzi shoots in looking for a takedown. Escobar tries to sprawl out of it but Zozzi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Escobar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Escobar is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Zozzi shoots in looking for a takedown. Escobar tries to sprawl out of it but Zozzi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Escobar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Zozzi gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Pablo Escobar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Zozzi feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Escobar is looking for a triangle but Zozzi pushes his legs off easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Escobar looks very frustrated and is flailing away with strikes from the bottom. His corner are telling him to stay calm.
Escobar wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Zozzi.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Zozzi tries to score a power double leg takedown but Escobar sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Zozzi somewhat.

Escobar throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

I think Escobar has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
