3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Tommy Thompson! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Ackerman and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cowper fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Craig Cowper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cowper walks into a left hand. Cowper fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Thompson avoids it really well and circles away. Thompson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Thompson misses with a wild combination.
Cowper shoots in and drives through. Thompson sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Craig Cowper. That's going to take a lot out of him. Thompson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Cowper.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thompson throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Thompson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. and Thompson counters with a body kick that stops Cowper in his tracks momentarily. A head kick misses from Thompson. Cowper shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Cowper shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Thompson is trying to defend but Cowper finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
