Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Willy Tert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Lister (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Willy Tert has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Willy Tert seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Willy Tert! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Lister! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Richard Clark and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lister is defended easily by Tert. Tert fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Lister to the ground. Tert is now in Lister's guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Lister looking for a sweep. Not yet Lister, not yet. Tert showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Tert seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lister for as long as he can get away with.
Willy Tert has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Lister swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tert uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lister. Lister throws a body punch but Tert moves out of range. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Tert checks a leg kick. Lister shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Tert shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Lister is trying to defend but Tert finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Tert working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Tert seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tert's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Willy Tert wasn't doing enough on the ground. Tert changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lister looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Tert throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Lister is trying to escape the position but Tert is controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Check out the look on Tert's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
The referee asks Tert politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Tert prefers to stall for the moment though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lister is looking to regain half guard here but Tert keeps moving and retains side control. Tert moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Lister is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Lister is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Tert's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Tert's back!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tert covering up well and avoiding damage. Tert looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. Tert is having to fend off submission attempts from Lister, who is looking to sink in the choke. Lister doesn't have the hooks in though and Tert manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lister looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tert is one step ahead there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lister gets caught napping as Tert dives in and scores a takedown. Lister manages to retain guard. Tert postures up in Lister's guard and throws a big left but Lister blocks it. Tert showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Lister is looking for a triangle but Tert pushes his legs off easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Tert is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Willy Tert. Lister gets caught napping as Tert dives in and scores a takedown. Lister manages to retain guard. Tert in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Tert wants to stand but Lister has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Tert sitting in guard here, content to control. Tert wants to pass the guard but Lister is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lister wants to stand but Tert is controlling the position. Tert looking to sit in guard and control but Lister gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Tert wants to stand and escape but Lister is having none of it. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Tert has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lister can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Tert wants to stand but Lister is controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tert is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lister defends well. Tert isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Lister stacks Tert on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Lister! Tert really is a fat lump. Tert manages to work his way to half guard, despite Lister's best efforts.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tert pushes Lister off looking to stand but Lister dives back in and keeps control.
Lister passes to full mount! Lister unloads with some shots from mount but Tert bucks and avoids them well.
Tert bucks Lister off and manages to get back to his feet! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Lister gets caught napping as Tert dives in and scores a takedown. Lister manages to retain guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Willy Tert dominated that second round. That's time! Tert's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!

Tert wants to control from the top but Lister keeps moving. Tert not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Lister looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Tert stays in close to Lister's body and controls the position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Tert with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that's the end of the fight! Willy Tert showed his dominance in that final round. Well Tert has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
