Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tim Askarian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tim Alvarez has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Tim Askarian's chin.

The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Micheangelo Fripello and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Askarian defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Alvarez.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Askarian, right into the meat.
Askarian throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Alvarez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Askarian fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Alvarez looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Alvarez has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Askarian.

Alvarez lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
