Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Martin Scalion! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Paulo Tuppy! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tuppy misses with a wild body shot. Scalion misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Tuppy.
Scalion closes this distance looking for a takedown but Tuppy circles away. Scalion moves into the clinch. Scalion is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Tuppy is defending well for now. Tuppy gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Scalion trying to control from the bottom.
Tuppy is keen to just control but Scalion is a slippery customer. Tuppy is thwarting Scalion's attempts to control the position. Tuppy trying to control from half guard but Scalion is working away.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Paulo Tuppy. Scalion tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Scalion keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tuppy moves into the clinch. Tuppy has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Scalion after a bit of a struggle. Tuppy swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Scalion content to stall in guard here. Tuppy keeping moving, preventing Scalion from controlling successfully. Tuppy is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Scalion gets in close and instigates a clinch. Scalion taking a breather. Scalion tries to land knees in the clinch but Tuppy avoids the damage to the body. Scalion tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Tuppy goes for a takedown in the clinch but Scalion prevents it.
Martin Scalion has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paulo Tuppy. Scalion fails to pull guard.
Scalion jumps guard and drags Tuppy to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Tuppy is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. This has been an exciting period of action! Tuppy's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Tuppy has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Tuppy working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Tuppy keeping moving, preventing Scalion from controlling successfully. Scalion scoring with punches to the head and body. Tuppy tries to land a sweep but no joy. Tuppy trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tuppy tries to land a sweep but no joy. Tuppy has his feet on Scalion's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Horrible takedown by Scalion or perhaps it was just good defense by Tuppy which made him look bad. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Scalion fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Scalion is breathing heavily. Tuppy scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paulo Tuppy dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Tuppy lands with a good body shot. Scalion tries to keep at a distance but Tuppy has taken the fight into the clinch. Tuppy fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Tuppy gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Tuppy postures up in Scalion's guard and throws a big left but Scalion blocks it. Tuppy tries to free his leg and advance position but Scalion is retaining full guard. Scalion keeping moving, preventing Tuppy from controlling successfully. Tuppy stands up from Scalion's guard - Tuppy perhaps looking for a knockout. Tuppy moves in looking to clinch but Scalion pushes him off.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tuppy swats away the attempt to clinch by Scalion. Tuppy shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Scalion sprawls well. Scalion wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Tuppy gets slowly back to his feet. A punch combination from Scalion misses. Scalion blocks a head kick by Tuppy.
Scalion tries to clinch but Tuppy is having none of it. Scalion throws a nice outside leg kick. Scalion tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tuppy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Scalion somewhat. Scalion looks for a takedown but Tuppy sprawls well. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tuppy fails with the takedown. Martin Scalion has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paulo Tuppy. Tuppy shoots in looking for a takedown but Scalion manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tuppy's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Tuppy looks for the body kick but Scalion saw that one coming. Scalion shoots for a takedown but Tuppy saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. No luck with that takedown attempt from Scalion. Tuppy shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Scalion napping and manages to drive through into side control! Tuppy working the ground and pound.

Tuppy is looking to take a break and control but Scalion is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Scalion is trying to control Tuppy's posture but Tuppy avoids it. Tuppy is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Scalion is trying to escape and Tuppy transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Scalion is forced to tap! Nice work there by Tuppy! Very nice indeed!
