The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fountas defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Elliott.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Fountas.

Fountas drives through and clinches with Elliott against the cage.
Fountas tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Elliott just stands there and leans against the cage.
Fountas wants to break the clinch but can't.

Fountas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Elliott swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Fountas tries to free his leg and advance position but Elliott is retaining full guard.

Fountas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Elliott swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jason Fountas.
Elliott shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Fountas as he avoids it easily.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Ben Elliott has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Fountas tries a head kick but it misses.

Fountas fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Elliott, pushing him back against the cage.
Elliott jumps guard but Fountas stands there with Elliott around his waist. Elliott gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Elliott wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Fountas ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Fountas no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fountas shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Elliott defends it nicely.

Ben Elliott is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Fountas rushes Elliott and presses him up against the cage.
Elliott is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Fountas to keep the fight standing.

Fountas wants to get back to his feet but Elliott is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Ben Elliott overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Elliott got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fountas has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Elliott has managed to get both his arms back between Fountas's legs - danger averted.

Elliott drops back looking for a leg! Fountas is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fountas manages to kick Elliott off! Elliott jumps back into Fountas's guard.

Elliott drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Fountas manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Elliott has Fountas in his guard.

Fountas wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Elliott's closed guard. He's half up but Elliott has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Elliott pivots and extends the arm, Fountas falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Elliott! Well done that man!
