Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Trap!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Colton De Costa !
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Joseph Jones and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

De Costa shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than De Costa was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
De Costa prevents Trap from getting the reversal.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Trap gets back to half guard.

Trap is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but De Costa pulls his head out easily.
Trap tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Trap throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Trap works his way to full guard. Good work.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
De Costa tries to stand but Trap is controlling from the bottom.
Trap tries to land a sweep but no joy.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Trap manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. De Costa manages to get himself to full guard.
Trap keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of De Costa 's head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Trap scoring with punches to the head and body.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if De Costa can do anything to dispel that myth.
Trap makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
De Costa has momentary wrist control but Trap slips an elbow through the middle.
De Costa keeping moving, preventing Trap from controlling successfully.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Trap accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
De Costa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Trap. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Trap prevents De Costa from getting back to his feet.
Trap is pushing down on De Costa 's leg trying to pass to half guard. De Costa is fighting to maintain full guard but Trap has managed to sneak the leg through.
De Costa has hold of Trap's hands but Trap slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
De Costa is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Trap scores with a couple of nice shots.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Trap is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Trap sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. De Costa defending well though.
Trap perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Trap lands strikes from half guard.
Trap frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Trap has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! De Costa is forced to tap!
