Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tim Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyson Shields! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shields shoots in for a double leg but Perry sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Shields scores with a jab to the body. Perry doesn't succeed with the takedown and Shields counters with a big head kick but Perry shrugs it off. Perry tries to clinch up but Shields circles away and keeps his distance. Perry doesn't manage to clinch there - Shields circles away.
Perry shoots in for a takedown but Shields shows good takedown defense. Shields with a lazy takedown attempt and Perry counters with a shoot takedown. Shields fights it but they end up in guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Shields is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Perry stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shields swivels though and keeps the full guard. Perry preventing the sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Perry looking to pass the guard. Perry wants to control from the top but Shields keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shields looking for a sweep. Not yet Shields, not yet. Shields not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Perry throws a sloppy head kick and Shields moves out of range easily. No luck with that takedown attempt from Shields. Tim Perry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyson Shields. Perry fails with the takedown. Perry shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Perry wants to control from the top but Shields keeps moving. Shields is pulling down on Perry's head. It's preventing any offense from Perry, at least for the moment. Shields looking to control.
Shields looking to hit a scissor sweep but Perry is one step ahead there. Perry really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Tyson Shields has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Shields doesn't succeed with the takedown and Perry counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Shields's guard now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Perry trying to control the position from guard on top but Shields is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Perry is really struggling to control Shields but he's trying to hold on to the position. Perry will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Perry is pushing down on Shields's leg trying to pass to half guard. Shields is fighting to maintain full guard but Perry has managed to sneak the leg through. Perry tries to pass to full mount but Shields defends it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Perry is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Shields trying to control here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Perry content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Perry is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Shields is trying to control but can't.
Shields avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Perry. Perry prevents Shields from improving his position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Shields is not content to let Perry control the position. Shields wants to improve his position but Perry is controlling well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tim Perry dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Perry leaves Shields with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. The fight moves into the clinch position. Shields cracks Perry with a nice body shot. Shields landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Perry shoots in for a takedown but Shields shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Perry tries to keep at a distance but Shields has taken the fight into the clinch. Shields manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Shields really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Perry. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Shields keeping moving, preventing Perry from controlling successfully. Perry decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Shields, up you get! Shields shoots in looking for a takedown but Perry manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Shields's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Tim Perry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyson Shields. Shields gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Shields wants to take the fight to the mat but Perry manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Shields tries to pull guard but Perry holds him up against the cage and eventually Shields drops back down to his feet.

Perry shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Shields as he avoids it easily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Perry chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Shields can pounce on him.

Shields pushes Perry against the cage but Perry circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Shields moves out of range of the body kick. Perry tries to clinch up but Shields circles away and keeps his distance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shields shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Shields is breathing heavily. Perry throws a head kick that misses and Shields counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Perry blocks a head kick by Shields.

Shields sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Perry tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Shields swivels and escapes. Perry gets caught napping as Shields dives in and scores a takedown. Perry manages to retain guard. Perry preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Shields must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Shields wants to get up but he can't break Perry's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Perry pulls Shields in close to his closed guard and prevents Shields from doing any damage or advancing position. Perry working for a triangle but Shields defends it easily.

Shields scores with a takedown into Perry's guard. Perry is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Perry bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
