Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eddy Samuels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hao Rucon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rucon has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Samuels scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Rucon looks gassed!

Samuels stands up.

Samuels has managed to clinch.

Samuels pulls Rucon into guard.
Samuels keeping moving, preventing Rucon from controlling successfully.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rucon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rucon won't allow Samuels to get back to his feet.
Samuels is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Samuels looking for a sweep. Not yet Samuels, not yet.
Samuels wants to stand up but Rucon is controlling him.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Samuels looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Rucon trying to control here.
Samuels wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rucon keeps working.
Samuels tries to pass to full mount but Rucon defends it.
Rucon tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Samuels is thwarting Rucon's attempts to control the position.
Rucon tries to get to full guard but Samuels has control of the leg.

Samuels prevents Rucon from standing back up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Samuels lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Rucon backs up against the cage.

Rucon is rocked!

The cut above Hao Rucon's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Samuels throws a right and a left that Rucon avoids nicely.
Rucon is still on wobbly legs! Can Samuels finish him?
Samuels misses with a wild combination.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Samuels.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Samuels circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Rucon to the canvas! Rucon doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Samuels keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
