PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Hitchcock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Louis Tandoe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Atkins and Phil Schofield.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hitchcock circles away from the clinch attempt
and Hitchcock counters with a one-two to the body.
Tandoe should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Tandoe has a takedown stuffed.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hitchcock thuds a left hand into Tandoe's body.
Tandoe shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hitchcock as he jumps to the side.

and Hitchcock decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Tandoe's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Hitchcock trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Hitchcock will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Tandoe wants to sweep here but Hitchcock controlling him for the moment.
Hitchcock is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Hitchcock trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Hitchcock postures up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Tandoe tries for a takedown but Hitchcock sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Mark Hitchcock has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Louis Tandoe.
Tandoe looks winded!

Hitchcock forces Tandoe back against the cage and clinches.

Hitchcock breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Hitchcock rushes Tandoe and presses him up against the cage.
Tandoe keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Hitchcock's efforts to push away.

Hitchcock manages to break the clinch.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Hitchcock.

Hitchcock looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Hitchcock content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Tandoe pushes Hitchcock off looking to stand but Hitchcock dives back in and keeps control.

Hitchcock is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Tandoe sees it coming and defends easily.
Hitchcock wants to get back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hitchcock looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Hitchcock thows a huge punch but Tandoe dodges it nicely.
Tandoe tries to get to full guard but Hitchcock has control of the leg.

Hitchcock is looking to pass Tandoe's guard but actually Tandoe recovers to full guard.
Tandoe looking for a sweep. Not yet Tandoe, not yet.
Hitchcock slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

We're going to have a standup here because Mark Hitchcock wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Hitchcock misses with a head kick.
Hitchcock circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hitchcock cracks Tandoe with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Hitchcock shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Tandoe is trying to get back to full guard.
Tandoe is looking to control Hitchcock's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Tandoe avoid being mounted?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Tandoe slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Hitchcock wants to get up but he can't break Tandoe's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Hitchcock dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Tandoe on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Hitchcock connects with a combination that backs up Tandoe into the cage. Hitchcock lands a flurry of punches that gets past Tandoe's guard. Tandoe is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Hitchcock bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.
