Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Makosi Karolczak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Jennings (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Jennings's choice of entrance music: Nelly - Here comes the BOOM. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Makosi Karolczak! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Matt Jennings! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Valeri Chadov and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Karolczak closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jennings circles away. Jennings closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Karolczak did well to prevent Jennings getting side control. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Jennings lands a nice short elbow. Karolczak has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jennings is working away from the top position though. Jennings is looking to take a break and control but Karolczak is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Karolczak throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Karolczak is trying to get back to full guard. Karolczak flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Karolczak is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jennings pulls his head out easily. Karolczak has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Karolczak on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. This has been an exciting period of action! Karolczak looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Karolczak has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jennings is working away from the top position though. Karolczak misses with some strikes from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ground and pound from Jennings. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jennings looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Karolczak with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Jennings wants to lay and pray for a moment but Karolczak keeps working. Jennings lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Jennings really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Karolczak. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Karolczak is trying to control but can't.
Jennings is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Jennings blocks the strikes from Karolczak.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jennings prevents Karolczak from standing back up.
Well, if Jennings is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Jennings looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Karolczak really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jennings must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Karolczak is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Jennings with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. That's four minutes gone in the round. Jennings cracks Karolczak with a solid left hand. Jennings with a nice head shot there. Jennings lands a couple of digs. Jennings scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Jennings scoring with some ground and pound. Jennings postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Karolczak will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Karolczak has momentary wrist control but Jennings slips an elbow through the middle. Jennings works over Karolczak with some ground and pound from guard. Jennings lands a couple of elbows. Jennings is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Karolczak is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Jennings trying to control the position from guard on top but Karolczak is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jennings chips away with some ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Jennings dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Jennings shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Karolczak is trying to defend but Jennings finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Karolczak makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Karolczak. Karolczak looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Karolczak looking for a sweep. Not yet Karolczak, not yet. Jennings distracts Karolczak with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Jennings lands a couple of digs. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jennings trying to control but Karolczak is working from the bottom. Jennings is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Jennings stands up over Karolczak, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Karolczak looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jennings is one step ahead there. Karolczak has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Jennings doesn't defend quickly enough and Karolczak has managed to lock this one up! Can Jennings escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Karolczak on a fantastic submission victory.
