Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joh Jah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Corwin Anstey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anstey has chosen DIME SI TE VAS CON EL NIGGA as his entrance music. Corwin Anstey is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joh Jah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Corwin Anstey!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anstey fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Good exchange - Jah coming out on top.
Jah throws a right hand that Anstey ducks under and follows up with a left that Anstey also avoids with ease.
Anstey misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Horrible takedown by Anstey or perhaps it was just good defense by Jah which made him look bad.
Joh Jah has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Corwin Anstey.

Anstey looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Jah!

Jah is looking to improve his position but Anstey isn't that keen on the idea.
Jah is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

You get the feeling that Jah really doesn't like being in this position too much.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Anstey fails to advance to Jah's back.
Jah is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Anstey looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Anstey won't let Jah get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Jah tries to hold on but Anstey postures up.

BOOM! Anstey connects with a massive shot to the dome!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jah really wants to buck Anstey off and get back to his feet.
Anstey lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Jah tries to hold on but Anstey pushes him away.
BOOM! Anstey connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Jah slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jah manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Anstey misses with a takedown attempt - Jah sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Anstey shoots for a takedown but Jah saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Jah fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Anstey manages to avoid it.

Anstey closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jah to the mat! Jah manages to get full guard.

Anstey postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jah is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Anstey, into his guard.
Jah trying to control the position from guard on top but Anstey is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jah slips nicely into half guard.
Anstey tries to roll over but Jah keeps him under control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Corwin Anstey will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Jah lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Jah swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jah connects with a looping right hand.
Anstey slips a jab and a cross from Jah.

Jah is in a horrible position here. Anstey smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Anstey is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Jah is surviving well by controlling Anstey's body position as best he can.
Anstey thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Anstey has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Jah's face.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Jah is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Anstey's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Anstey's back!

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Horrible takedown by Anstey or perhaps it was just good defense by Jah which made him look bad.
Anstey changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jah tries to avoid it but Anstey manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jah to the ground. Jah escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Anstey shoots for a double leg takedown but Jah sprawls well. He's pushed Anstey's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Joh Jah has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Corwin Anstey.
Jah lands a nice hook to Anstey's body. Anstey takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Jah lands with a nice combination. Anstey backs away looking to recover.
