Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Whats Nutz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clay Rawls (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Whats Nutz! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Clay Rawls! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nutz scores with a hook to the body. Rawls takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Nutz shoots for a takedown but Rawls saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Nutz misses with a body shot.
Rawls keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Clay Rawls seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice shot lands for Rawls. Rawls bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Rawls tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. You can see the frustration on Nutz's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Nutz takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Nutz sneaks back into half guard. Nutz wants to improve his position but Rawls is controlling well.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rawls connects with a nice short shot to Nutz's temple. Rawls has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Rawls looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Nutz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nutz on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Rawls seems to be working for a kimura but Nutz defends the submission attempt. Nutz is looking for a sweep. Rawls is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Nutz is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rawls's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rawls's back! Rawls tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Rawls wants to control but Nutz is having none of it. Rawls slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Rawls wants to get back to full guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Nutz is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rawls defends it well. Rawls keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rawls is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Nutz's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Nutz's back! Nutz is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Rawls gets his way!
Rawls is trying to stick to Nutz's back but Nutz is turning into Rawls. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Rawls's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Nutz. Rawls looks gassed! Rawls not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Nutz preventing the sweep. Rawls keeping full guard, as Nutz tries to pass. Rawls looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nutz is one step ahead there. Rawls is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Rawls looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nutz drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rawls manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Nutz has Rawls in his guard. Rawls makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Nutz looking for a sweep. Not yet Nutz, not yet. Rawls tries to free his leg and advance position but Nutz is retaining full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nutz is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Rawls is working Nutz over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Rawls trying to control the position from guard on top but Nutz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nutz wants to sweep but no luck. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Rawls uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Nutz.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Nutz shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rawls's guard. Rawls looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Rawls manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Nutz manages to get himself to full guard.
Rawls trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Rawls lands a couple of elbows. Nutz is trying to keep Rawls in close.
Nutz looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Rawls slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Rawls wants to control from the top but Nutz keeps moving. Rawls passes easily into side control. Nice work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Clay Rawls dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Rawls takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Nutz tries for a takedown but Rawls circles away easily and Rawls counters with a one-two to the body. Rawls shoots in looking for a takedown. Nutz tries to sprawl out of it but Rawls keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nutz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Rawls tests Nutz's chin there with a solid looking shot. Nutz misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Nutz gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Rawls slips nicely into half guard. Clay Rawls has got the better of the ground game so far. Rawls slips a nice elbow through Nutz's hands, connecting with Nutz's forehead. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Nutz wants to get back to full guard but Rawls has mounted him! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nutz is desperately trying to improve his position but Rawls has a good base and remains in mount. Rawls lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rawls scoring with strikes but Nutz is staying in there. Rawls has control of Nutz's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Nutz regains control of the situation pretty easily.
A nice elbow there by Rawls. Rawls punishing his opponent with strikes. Nutz manages to regain half guard. Good work. Nutz has a hand on Rawls's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Rawls takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Rawls fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Rawls throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Nutz has his hands clasped together but Rawls breaks the hold and Nutz is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Rawls!
