Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Satoshi Kajiwara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hanamichi Sakuragi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Satoshi Kajiwara could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Hanamichi Sakuragi's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Satoshi Kajiwara! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hanamichi Sakuragi! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shirou Masuda and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kajiwara tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. No joy there for Kajiwara, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kajiwara gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Sakuragi throwing strikes from guard but Kajiwara blocks nicely. Kajiwara is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sakuragi is aware though and is defending well. Sakuragi stands up over Kajiwara, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Sakuragi throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Sakuragi must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Kajiwara looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Sakuragi postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Sakuragi throws a big right hand that misses. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kajiwara pushes Sakuragi off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kajiwara swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kajiwara takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Sakuragi lands a really nice looking cross but Kajiwara seems unphased.
A solid body kick from Kajiwara. Kajiwara tries to clinch but Sakuragi moves away and Sakuragi decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kajiwara's guard. Kajiwara is looking to stand up but Sakuragi isn't so interested in that idea.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kajiwara has his feet on Sakuragi's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Kajiwara fails with an attempt to clinch.

It looks like Satoshi Kajiwara has been cut. Sakuragi bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sakuragi prevents Kajiwara from escaping the position. Sakuragi cracks Kajiwara with a big elbow. Kajiwara takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Sakuragi throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Kajiwara is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Sakuragi has just dragged him back down to the mat. Kajiwara on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Kajiwara is working to avoid the ground and pound but Sakuragi connects with a decent elbow. Sakuragi lands a nice forearm strike. Sakuragi working the ground and pound from side control. An elbow from Sakuragi crashes against the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kajiwara wants to control but Sakuragi postures up. Kajiwara defending against the ground and pound. Sakuragi in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Sakuragi grinds an elbow into Kajiwara's temple. Kajiwara is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Sakuragi is controlling him well. Sakuragi cracks Kajiwara with an elbow. That is naaassty. You can see the frustration on Kajiwara's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Kajiwara striking from the bottom but nothing landed.

Kajiwara is rocked! Sakuragi is putting a hurting on Kajiwara here, landing some big shots from side control. Oh Kajiwara is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Sakuragi scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Kajiwara is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Sakuragi can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hanamichi Sakuragi!
