PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ikuhisa Minowa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kent is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by I'll be Back. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ikuhisa Minowa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Peter Kent!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Shimada and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kent misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Kent is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Minowa.
Kent throws a right hand that Minowa ducks under and follows up with a left that Minowa also avoids with ease.
Minowa walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Kent misses with an uppercut.
Kent is looking to clinch but Minowa is avoiding it.
Kent connects with a body shot.
Minowa misses the shot to the body.
Minowa dodges the punch combination from Kent.
Kent has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Peter Kent has been cut.
Minowa ducks under a wild hook from Kent.
Jab, jab by Minowa - just one landing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kent connects with a good right hand that stumbles Minowa. Minowa circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Minowa moves in looking to clinch but Kent pushes him off.
Kent fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Minowa manages to avoid it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Minowa lands a jab to the head.
Kent gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Kent slips a jab and a cross from Minowa.
Minowa tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kent was well out of range. Poor timing from Minowa.
Kent thows a body shot but no joy.
Kent misses with a body shot.
Peter Kent seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kent falls off balance throwing a combination

and Minowa counters with a left and a right that hurts Kent! He wobbles and falls to the floor - he's in big trouble! Minowa jumps into full mount!


Kent is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Minowa looking to secure an arm triangle but Kent defends it well.
Kent is still in real trouble! Can Minowa finish him?
Kent is trying desperately to improve position.
Kent seems to have recovered his senses.
Minowa fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Minowa is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Kent has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Minowa connects with a couple of good shots from mount.


That has opened up Peter Kent's cut even more.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Minowa dominating with strikes here.
Kent is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Kent tries to hold on but Minowa pushes him away.
Kent is squirming around, avoiding Minowa's attempts to control the action.
Kent is wriggling around trying to escape.
Minowa has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Minowa connects with a bit shot that sees Kent covering up! More strikes from Minowa and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Minowa is our winner by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ikuhisa Minowa!
A relieved looking Ikuhisa Minowa thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
