Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wes Fox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tanner Layne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fox's entrance music is HYFR. A fine choice. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Wes Fox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tanner Layne!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Layne shoots in for a double leg but Fox sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Layne looks to clinch
and Fox makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Layne really felt that one!
Layne looks winded!
Fox lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Layne tries to land a body kick
and Fox counters with a good low kick that Layne was not able to check.
Fox thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Layne if he has to take too many more of those.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fox fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Fox lands a big head kick that sends Layne tumbling to the mat! Fox takes a step backwards and waves Layne back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Layne is rocked!
It looks like Tanner Layne has been cut.
Ohhhhhhhhhh, brutal head kick from Fox! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Wes Fox!
A relieved looking Wes Fox thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
