Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barry Schmelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schmelly has chosen Possibility as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Black! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Barry Schmelly! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schmelly clinches. Black escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Schmelly tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Black was well out of range. Poor timing from Schmelly. Black takes one to the chin there. A looping hook to the body misses from Black. Schmelly does a little dance to reset his feet. John Black seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Black throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Black takes a swing at Schmelly's ribcage but misses. Black misses with a few strikes there.
Black misses with a shot to the body and Schmelly counters with a left and a right that stings Black. Schmelly connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Black's hands. Black swings for the body but Schmelly moves out of range.
Black lands with a good body shot. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Black pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Black manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. John Black has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The crowd cheers as Black lands an impressive looking overhand right. That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Black tries to bum rush Schmelly with a series of wild strikes but Schmelly uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Schmelly misses with a jab, cross combination.

That was a close round but I would say that John Black will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Schmelly is wobbling all over the place through exhaustion. Will he make it to the final bell? Schmelly wants to control but Black is keeping him busy. Black is pushing Schmelly's head away, looking to escape. Schmelly manages to hold on to the position though. Schmelly passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Black! Black is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Schmelly looking for a guillotine from mount but Black is having none of it.
