Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gus Solonik! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, George Wilson! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paulsen Ambrosius and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Solonik. Solonik fakes the leg kick and cracks Wilson in the body. A jab from Solonik finds it's way through Wilson's defenses. A combination from Wilson does no damage. Solonik closes the distance looking to clinch and Wilson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Wilson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Solonik explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Wilson avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Solonik thows a body kick. Wilson tries to catch it but that hurt him. Wilson catches Solonik napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Solonik to the canvas!
Solonik is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Solonik looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Oh Solonik is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Wilson stopping the sweep attempt from Solonik. Solonik working for a triangle but Wilson defends it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Solonik is looking to sweep but instead, Wilson has passed into half guard.
Solonik seems to have got his legs back now. Solonik looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Solonik is looking for a sweep. Wilson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Wilson trying to control the action but Solonik is working from the bottom. Solonik trying to control but Wilson postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wilson frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Wilson lands a nice shot to the head. Solonik is looking to improve his position but Wilson isn't that keen on the idea. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Solonik tries to hold on but Wilson pushes him away. Solonik tries to get back to half guard but can't. Solonik is working hard here to advance position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wilson breaks from Solonik's wrist control and lands an elbow. Solonik can't escape the position.
Wilson wants to control the pace but Solonik is squirming around nicely. Solonik is trying to escape the mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wilson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Solonik is looking to escape. Wilson with shots to the head and body - Solonik looks very uncomfortable down there. Wilson lands a big elbow - Solonik is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Solonik is forced to tap out!
