The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Sosuke Kotani and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MaClough looks to clinch
and Awa counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
MaClough tries to clinch up
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
MaClough moves to clinch but Awa breaks away
and Awa counters with a three punch combo that has MaClough backing up. MaClough nods at Awa to acknowledge the strikes.

and Awa counters with a series of strikes. MaClough will be more careful next time no doubt.
Awa connects with a leg kick. MaClough looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Awa is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Awa throws a leg kick which misses MaClough's front leg but catches the back leg as MaClough tries to avoid it.
