Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ben James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Lie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lie comes into a darkened arena with his song building. we right here kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ben James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Lie!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lie is looking to clinch but James is avoiding it.
Lie misses with a few strikes there.
Lie tries to bum rush James with a series of wild strikes but James uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Lie is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
James pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lie tries to clinch but fails miserably

and James decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lie's guard.
James trying to control the position from guard on top but Lie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

James thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Lie keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
James stops Lie from standing up.
James trying to control the position from guard on top but Lie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ben James.

James drives through with a takedown into Lie's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Lie can't keep his opponent in guard - James advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
James with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
James is pressing down on Lie's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lie is holding on for now.
James trying to control the pace.
Lie tries to kick James off but James keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Lie looks winded!
James wants to pass the guard but Lie is defending well.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Ben James just wasn't active enough.
Lie looks to land a combination but James avoids it well.

James closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Lie is not content to let James control the position.
Lie wants to get back to his feet.

James looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
James wants to stand but Lie has his arm trapped.

Lie throws James to one side and escapes!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
James pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lie tries to clinch there but James circles away.
Lie misses with a few strikes there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lie misses with a wild combination.
Lie moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Lie throws a series of punches but James moves out of range.

James changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lie looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
James is looking to take a break and control but Lie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Lie is pushing James's head away, looking to escape. James manages to hold on to the position though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
James controlling the position from side mount.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Lie wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ben James dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


James fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

James takes the fight into the clinch.
Lie is looking to break free of the clinch but James has double underhooks.
Lie is trying to push James away but James has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Lie wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

James breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A combination from Lie does no damage.
Lie misses with a combination
and James counters with an inside leg kick.

James closes the distance and pushes Lie back into the cage.

James has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Lie is trying to keep an underhook but James manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
It looks like James is going to stand back up.
Lie is trying to stand.

Lie is not content to let James control the position.
Lie wants to get back to his feet.
James is trying to control. Lie wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Lie is trying to stand back up but James is controlling him

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ben James.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Lie enables James to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Lie manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Lie has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes James off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Lie misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

James decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lie has one foot on James's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
James fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Lie will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

James closes the distance and pushes Lie back into the cage.
Lie is trying to break free.

James manages to break the clinch.
James swats away the attempt to clinch by Lie.

Lie misses with a two punch combination.
Lie rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but James moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

James has closed the distance and engaged Lie in a clinch.

James pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lie tries to clinch up.
James avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lie swats away the attempt to clinch by James.
James slips a jab and a cross from Lie.
Lie throws a left and a right that both miss

and James counters with a takedown into side control.

James has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

James looks for a takedown but Lie sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ben James. That's going to take a lot out of him.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sloppy strikes from Lie. Those never looked like landing.

James feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That kick from James tenderised Lie's leg. Lie is trying to keep his angry face on.
James throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lie's waist but Lie gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing James off to one side.
Lie tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Lie closes the distance looking to clinch
and James counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
James cracks Lie with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Lie wants to clinch up but James keeps it at a distance.
Lie on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

James fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Lie to the ground. James is now in Lie's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
James is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Lie wants to stand but James is controlling the position.

James trying to control but Lie is working from the bottom.

James gets to his feet - Lie follows without any prompting.
James throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Lie tries to clinch up but James circles away and keeps his distance.
James tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lie paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Lie throws a combination. James tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Lie is looking to clinch.
Lie tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. James manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Lie keeps the fight on the outside.
Lie throws a right hand that James ducks under and follows up with a left that James also avoids with ease.
Lie takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Mike Lie has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

James throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Lie doesn't manage to clinch there - James circles away.
Lie misses with a wild combination.
Lie lands with a nice combination. James backs away looking to recover.

James drives through with a takedown into Lie's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lie wants to stand but James is controlling the position.

Lie pushes James off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from James is defended easily by Lie.

Lie circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mike Lie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
James showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lie.

James tries to clinch but Lie moves out of range.

and James counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lie won't be happy with that.
The strikes coming from James are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Lie sneaks out the side door and pushes James away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Mike Lie is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and James counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Lie!
Ben James is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

James knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lie on the ground.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for James, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
