Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luke Reed! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brad Maddox! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reed turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Luke Reed seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Maddox keeps the fight on the outside. A head kick misses from Reed. Reed stuns Maddox with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Reed throws a nice head kick!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Reed. Reed leaves Maddox with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Reed fails with an attempt to clinch.
Reed darts in and clinches Maddox up against the ropes. Reed pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Reed closes the distance and clinches. Maddox drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Reed breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Maddox gets tackled into the ropes by Reed. Reed maintains the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reed escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Reed throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Reed takes the fight into the clinch. Reed is trying to push Maddox away but Maddox has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere. Maddox jumps guard but Reed turns him against the ropes and keeps the fight standing. Luke Reed has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brad Maddox. Reed working hard to break the clinch. Maddox prevents Reed from breaking the clinch. Reed breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Maddox shoots in for a takedown but Reed shows good takedown defense. Maddox takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Reed lands with a slapping head kick.
It looks like Brad Maddox has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Reed closes the distance and clinches. Maddox is trying to push Reed away but Reed has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere. Maddox tries for a takedown. No joy.

Maddox stalling in the clinch but Reed improves position. Reed's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Maddox blocks a head kick by Reed.
Reed throws a half hearted mid kick. Reed tries a head kick but it misses.

Reed connects with a solid leg kick. Reed misses with a low kick. Reed buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Maddox takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Reed cracks a nice hook into Maddox's ribs. Reed knocks Maddox to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?
Maddox is rocked! Reed wants to stand but Maddox has his arm trapped.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reed working away. Reed working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Reed goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Maddox rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Reed's guard! Nice work there by Maddox! Maddox wants to control from the top but Reed keeps moving. Reed preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Reed will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Reed is trying to hold Maddox in close to prevent damage but Maddox has managed to pass into half guard.
Reed tries to kick Maddox off but Maddox keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Reed is looking for a sweep. Maddox is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Reed on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Reed tries to get to full guard but Maddox has control of the leg. Maddox throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Maddox dominating with strikes here. This has been an exciting period of action! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Maddox controlling from mount. The fight stays on the outside here - Reed looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Reed fails in his attempt to clinch. Reed has closed the distance and engaged Maddox in a clinch.

Maddox wants to take the fight to the mat but Reed manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Reed tries to stall but Maddox uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
A frustrated look appears on Reed's face as he tries to break the clinch. Reed is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes. Maddox is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Maddox is trying to drag Reed to the mat but Reed just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there. Maddox has Reed pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Reed manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Luke Reed has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brad Maddox. Reed's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Luke Reed is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Reed throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Luke Reed is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Reed just misses with a punch to the body.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Reed controlling the position. Reed preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Maddox showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Maddox trying to control the position from guard on top but Reed is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Reed is pulling down on Maddox's head to control his posture. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Reed misses with a wild body shot. Reed tries a head kick but it misses.
Reed tries to clinch but fails miserably and Maddox counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Reed's guard now. Reed is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Maddox is controlling him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maddox won't allow Reed to sweep him here. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Reed is trying to control the position but Maddox postures up. Reed tries to land a sweep but no joy. Maddox scoring with some ground and pound. Maddox with a nice head shot there. Maddox lands a couple of digs. Maddox stops Reed from standing up. Brad Maddox has got the better of the ground game so far. Maddox wants to control from the top but Reed keeps moving. Reed is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Brad Maddox wasn't active enough on the ground. Reed looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Maddox shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Reed manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Maddox wants to pass the guard but Reed is keeping the position. Maddox scoring with punches to the head and body. Maddox loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Reed has momentary wrist control but Maddox slips an elbow through the middle. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Reed is looking to stand up but Maddox isn't so interested in that idea. Maddox tries to free his leg and advance position but Reed is retaining full guard. Reed is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Reed throws a hook to the side of Maddox's head but Maddox sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Reed misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Maddox tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Reed swivels and escapes. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Maddox pushes Reed against the ropes but Reed circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Luke Reed has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brad Maddox. Reed throws a head kick but Maddox moves out of range.
Maddox looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Reed closes the distance looking to clinch and Maddox counters with a nice double leg into guard. Reed knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Maddox on the ground. Maddox is pressing down on Reed's thigh, looking to free his foot. Reed is holding on for now. Maddox moves into full mount! Reed won't be happy about that! Maddox lands with some strikes. Maddox wants to control the pace but Reed is squirming around nicely. Maddox is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Reed can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Reed is working hard here to advance position. Maddox has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Reed's face.
Maddox wants to control the pace but Reed is squirming around nicely. Maddox goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Reed turns into him and now he's in Maddox's guard.

Maddox got a little sloppy there for a moment and Reed has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Maddox has managed to get both his arms back between Reed's legs - danger averted. Maddox drops back looking for a leg! Reed is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Reed manages to kick Maddox off! Maddox jumps back into Reed's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Brad Maddox comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Maddox has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
