Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mathew Drens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Suave Ripkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Suave Ripkin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mathew Drens! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Suave Ripkin! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ripkin is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Drens's half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Drens wants to improve his position but Ripkin is controlling well.
Ripkin thows a huge punch but Drens dodges it nicely.
Ripkin seems to be working for a kimura but Drens defends the submission attempt. Drens is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Ripkin is working for a kimura but Drens is defending it quite comfortably.
Ripkin prevents Drens from improving his position. Drens makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Drens. Ripkin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's one minute gone in the round. Drens looking for a sweep. Not yet Drens, not yet. Drens trying to control the position.
Ripkin looking to sit in guard and control but Drens gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Ripkin trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Drens sitting in guard, not really doing much. Ripkin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Drens defends well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Drens slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Drens wants to control from the top but Ripkin keeps moving. Ripkin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Drens gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Drens trying to control but Ripkin is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Drens looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Ripkin is trying to keep Drens in close.
We're going to have a standup here because Mathew Drens wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Ripkin shoots in and gets a takedown into Drens's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ripkin wants to control from the top but Drens keeps moving. Drens is trying to keep Ripkin in close.
Drens has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Ripkin should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Drens has tightened it up now! Ripkin should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
