Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, BJ The Prodigy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carlos Andre! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Andre slips a jab and a cross from The Prodigy.
Andre showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from The Prodigy.
Andre shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. The Prodigy is in all sorts of trouble here.
Andre controlling the pace for now. BOOM! Andre connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The Prodigy is trying desperately to improve position. Andre sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Andre looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. The Prodigy can't escape the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Andre raining down shots from the mount! Andre breaks from The Prodigy's wrist control and lands an elbow. The Prodigy working to try and regain half guard.
The Prodigy is squirming around, avoiding Andre's attempts to control the action. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The Prodigy is wriggling around trying to escape.
The Prodigy is breathing heavily. Andre looking to control and managing it successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Andre trying to control but The Prodigy is having none of it. The Prodigy is trying to escape the mount.
The Prodigy is in a horrible position here. Andre smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Andre tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Despite being in the dominant position, Carlos Andre just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. The Prodigy looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. BJ The Prodigy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Andre feints and as The Prodigy raises his hands in defense, Andre changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Andre decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Andre scores with a takedown into The Prodigy's guard. The Prodigy can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Andre controls the pace. The Prodigy looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Andre is defending well. The Prodigy quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Andre has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! The Prodigy celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
