Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jay Tarver! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Timmy Montag! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Chad Campbell and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Montag shoots in and gets a takedown into Tarver's guard. Tarver working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Montag doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Montag manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Montag wants to pass the guard but Tarver is keeping the position. Tarver is looking for a triangle but Montag pushes his legs off easily.
Montag trying to control the position from guard on top but Tarver is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tarver looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Tarver keeping moving, preventing Montag from controlling successfully. Tarver looking for a guillotine here but Montag defends easily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Montag working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Tarver's head.

Montag trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Montag drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Montag jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Montag must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Montag is working Tarver over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Montag trying to control the position from guard on top but Tarver is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tarver has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Montag can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Tarver working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Montag doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Montag manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Montag avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Tarver is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Montag has his hands clasped together but Tarver extends an breaks Montag's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Tarver.
