Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kutanoid Kutasinsky! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ric Landeverde! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Chad Campbell and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kutasinsky gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Landeverde throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kutasinsky works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Landeverde with a flurry of punches that miss. Landeverde showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Landeverde throwing strikes but missing. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Landeverde with a flurry of punches that miss. Landeverde landing with the ground and pound. Landeverde trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Landeverde content to stall in guard here. Landeverde trying to control but Kutasinsky is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Landeverde throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kutasinsky works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Landeverde is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kutasinsky preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Landeverde is looking to pass into half guard but Kutasinsky pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Kutasinsky is in guard. Landeverde has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kutasinsky can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Landeverde holds on and takes a little breather. Landeverde looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kutasinsky trying to control the position from guard on top but Landeverde is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Landeverde lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kutasinsky! Kutasinsky blocking the ground and pound. Kutasinsky has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Landeverde's lack of action.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Landeverde lands a nice short elbow. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kutasinsky blocking the ground and pound attempt from Landeverde.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Landeverde landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Well, if Landeverde is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Kutasinsky is not content to let Landeverde control the position. Landeverde working Kutasinsky over with strikes. Landeverde misses with a head shot. Kutasinsky uses the momentum to regain guard. Landeverde gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Kutasinsky throws a head kick that misses. Kutasinsky is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Landeverde changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kutasinsky looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Landeverde trying to control the action but Kutasinsky is working from the bottom. Kutasinsky taking a bit of punishment here - Landeverde scoring with strikes. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Landeverde lands some shots froms side control. Landeverde is trying to get an arm triangle but Kutasinsky is defending well. Landeverde working the head with strikes. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Landeverde scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Kutasinsky to see if he's OK. Kutasinsky takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ric Landeverde dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Landeverde shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Ground and pound from Landeverde. Landeverde sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kutasinsky defending well though. Kutasinsky blocking the ground and pound attempt from Landeverde. Landeverde lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Landeverde slips a nice elbow through Kutasinsky's hands, connecting with Kutasinsky's forehead. Landeverde is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Landeverde is keen to just control but Kutasinsky is a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kutasinsky wants to improve his position but Landeverde is controlling well.
Landeverde not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Landeverde lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Well, if Landeverde is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Kutasinsky tries to roll over but Landeverde keeps him under control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Landeverde not doing much here.
Landeverde works his way into side control. Landeverde has been the more effective fighter overall so far. You can see the frustration on Kutasinsky's face as Landeverde controls the position. Kutasinsky is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Kutasinsky takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Landeverde is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Kutasinsky will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Landeverde tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Kutasinsky is letting Landeverde control him for a moment. Kutasinsky gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Kutasinsky takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Landeverde pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Kutasinsky is rocked! Landeverde unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Kutasinsky wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Landeverde celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ric Landeverde!
