Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Diego Russell!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Russell closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. McGee quickly recovers to half guard.
McGee trying to hold on to Russell's head to control him but Russell postures up.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Russell is nestled in close to McGee, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
McGee has hold of Russell's hands but Russell slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
McGee works his way to full guard. Good work.

It looks like Russell might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Diego Russell wasn't active enough on the ground.
Russell shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. McGee is trying to defend but Russell finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
McGee is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Russell seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

McGee on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Russell wants to advance to full mount but McGee doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Russell slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Russell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McGee swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Russell landing a few strikes.
Russell is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down McGee's shoulder. That is not cool.
Russell advances nicely into full mount.
Russell lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Russell is landing with some decent strikes but McGee is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Russell content just to control the position here.
Russell has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Russell lands a big elbow.

Russell with shots to the head and body - McGee looks very uncomfortable down there.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Russell cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Russell lands a heavy elbow.
BOOM! Russell connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Russell lands with some vicious ground and pound - can McGee hang on?
A big strike lands for Russell! That's really hurt McGee and he's turned his back - Russell keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Russell jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
