Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Derick Moore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cory Rice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cory Rice has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Derick Moore!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cory Rice!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rice lands a body shot.
Rice displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.


It looks like Derick Moore has been cut.
Rice lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Moore circles away quickly and effectively.
Nice body punch from Moore.
Rice misses with a double jab.

Moore closes the distance and clinches.
Rice is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Moore pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Rice goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Rice tries to circle away but Moore has him pinned against the cage.

Moore has picked Rice up - he's going for a ride! Moore dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Rice wants to get back to full guard.
Moore uses his free foot to push down on Rice's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Rice.
Moore wants to control the pace but Rice is squirming around nicely.
Rice is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Rice is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Moore breaks from Rice's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Rice is trying to escape the mount.

Moore has hold of Rice's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Rice manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Rice is working to get back to half guard.

Moore jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Rice manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Moore cracks Rice with a big elbow.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rice bucks up and tries to throw Moore off but instead Moore has got his back!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Rice manages to reverse the position and now he's in Moore's guard. Nice work there by Rice.

Moore manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rice manages to get himself to full guard.
Rice has a closed guard, preventing Moore from standing up.

Moore slips nicely into half guard.
Rice tries to roll over but Moore keeps him under control.

Moore stands up out of the half guard.
Moore slips a jab and a cross from Rice.
Rice jabs Moore right on the nose. Moore blinks but takes it well.

Moore decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rice wants to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Moore wants to pass to mount but Rice is defending the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rice is not content to let Moore control the position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Moore connects with a nice short shot to Rice's temple.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Rice looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Moore scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Rice tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Moore wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Rice is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Moore has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Moore is looking to take a break and control but Rice is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Moore has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Moore bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Moore postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Moore is looking to take a break and control but Rice is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Rice looking for a sweep but Moore has passed into full mount! Oh no!

Rice tries to reverse the position but Moore maintains control.

Moore looking for a guillotine from mount but Rice is having none of it.
Rice keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Rice sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Moore thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Moore is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Rice works his way to full guard. Good work.
Moore seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Rice is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Derick Moore overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Rice is trying to work for a kimura but Moore is defending well.
Moore has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rice is working away from the top position though.

Moore gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Moore jumps into guard, dragging Rice to the mat.
Rice stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Moore swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Moore looking to control.

Moore has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rice can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Moore pulls Rice in to control the position.

Rice drops back, looking for a kneebar! Moore looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Moore looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Moore!

Rice is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Moore is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Rice reverses the position - he's now on top in Moore's guard.

Rice drops back looking for a leg! Moore is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Moore manages to kick Rice off! Rice jumps back into Moore's guard.

Rice is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Moore bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rice's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Moore stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rice swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Moore might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Rice looking for a guillotine here but Moore defends easily.

Moore stands and steps away. Rice gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Moore darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Rice wants to improve his position but Moore is controlling well.

Moore is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rice defends it well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rice on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

And that's the end of the fight!
Derick Moore showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Moore, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
