Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Killer Benji (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Buffer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Killer Benji looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Killer Benji!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bruce Buffer!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benji dodges the punch combination from Buffer.
Benji looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Buffer closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Benji quickly recovers to half guard.
Buffer tries to pass to full mount but Benji defends it.
Buffer controlling the pace.
Buffer lands strikes from half guard.

Buffer seems to be looking for submissions.

Buffer looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Buffer is working for a kimura but Benji is defending it quite comfortably.
Buffer seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Buffer uses his free foot to push down on Benji's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Benji.

Buffer cracks Benji with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Buffer is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Benji to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Benji shrugs it off.
Benji wants to hold on but Buffer pushes him away.
Buffer wants to take Benji's back but he can't do it this time.

It looks like Buffer might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

A nice elbow there by Buffer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Buffer tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Buffer lands with a nice combination. Benji backs away looking to recover.

The fighters circle momentarily. Buffer darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Buffer throws a right and a left that both miss.
Benji wants to clinch but Buffer slips to the side
and Buffer counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Buffer lands a nice hook to Benji's body. Benji takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Buffer's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Buffer duly obliges.

Buffer drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Buffer's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Buffer tries to free his leg and advance position but Benji is retaining full guard.

Buffer not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Buffer gets to his feet - Benji follows without any prompting.
Buffer has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Benji walks into a straight right hand from Buffer.
Buffer is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Buffer lands with a nice combination. Benji backs away looking to recover.

Benji leaves Buffer with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Buffer throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Buffer scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Buffer throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Benji was covering up waiting for the punch and Buffer finishes the takedown easily into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Buffer throws a strike aimed at the side of Benji's head but Benji avoids it well.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Buffer misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Benji is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Buffer has just dragged him back down to the mat.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Bruce Buffer was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Benji gets caught napping as Buffer dives in and scores a takedown. Benji manages to retain guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Buffer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Benji swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Bruce Buffer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Buffer seems to be working for a kimura but Benji defends the submission attempt.

Benji prevents Buffer from improving position.
Benji is pushing Buffer's head away, looking to escape. Buffer manages to hold on to the position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A lull in the action here as Buffer stalls from top position.

Buffer is staying tight to Benji's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Buffer is working for a guillotine from mount but Benji frees his head quite easily.

Well Buffer has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
