Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Buck Blaze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Buck Blaze! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carl Burns! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blaze lands a nice leg kick that just misses Burns's sensitive parts. Blaze uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Burns.
Burns fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Blaze has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Burns checks a leg kick. Blaze throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Blaze steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Burns. Burns misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Blaze.

Burns shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Blaze uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Burns. A low kick from Blaze is predictable there and Burns counters with a leg kick. Blaze throws a series of punches but Burns avoids them all with ease. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A big right from Blaze misses. Nice defenses there by Burns. Burns connects with a solid leg kick. Blaze throws a lazy uppercut
and Burns counters with a nice low kick that buckles Blaze's knee momentarily. Blaze misses the shot to the body. Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

It looks like Carl Burns has been cut. Buck Blaze seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Blaze misses with a series of wild punches.
Buck Blaze is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Blaze throws a hook but Burns avoids it easily. Blaze moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Burns fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Blaze avoids it really well and circles away. Blaze swinging wildly here.
Blaze stuns Burns with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Burns keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Blaze throws a lazy right hand but Burns sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Burns moves out of range of the strikes. A left and a right from Blaze both land. Nice combination. An inside leg kick from Blaze misses. A leg kick checked by Blaze.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Burns is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Blaze's half guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Burns lands strikes from half guard. Burns sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Blaze defending well though. Burns wants to control but Blaze is keeping him busy. Blaze trying to control but Burns postures up.

Burns is stalling here. Blaze is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Burns seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Blaze has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Blaze will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Blaze trying to control the action but Burns is working from the bottom. Burns tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Blaze wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Burns manages to work his way to half guard, despite Blaze's best efforts. Blaze is thwarting Burns's attempts to control the position. Burns is looking to improve his position.
Burns is pressing down on Blaze's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Burns looking for a sweep. Not yet Burns, not yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Buck Blaze will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Carl Burns's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Blaze tries a low kick but Burns avoids it. Blaze looks to throw the jab but Burns is out of range. Burns chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Burns changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Blaze looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Blaze tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Burns wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Burns with the ground and pound but Blaze regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Burns working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Blaze controlling the position well. Burns landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burns wants to lay and pray for a moment but Blaze keeps working. Carl Burns has got the better of the ground game so far. Burns throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Burns trying to control from half guard but Blaze is working away. Burns has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Burns is thwarting Blaze's attempts to control the position. Burns misses with a head shot. Blaze uses the momentum to regain guard. Burns trying to move into half guard but instead Blaze has managed to sweep!

Burns misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Burns throws some wild stikes that Blaze manages to avoid easily.
Burns trying to control but he's not successful this time. Burns throws a sloppy strike and Blaze uses the opportunity to reverse the position! A bit of a scramble here and Blaze has ended up in Burns's guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Blaze wants to get up but he can't break Burns's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carl Burns showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Carl Burns's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
A punch combination from Blaze misses. Blaze missing with a left hand there. Burns was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Blaze scores with a crisp jab that stopped Burns in his tracks. Blaze throws a shot from downtown. Burns moves away and avoids it. Buck Blaze is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Burns displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Blaze throws out the jab. Blaze checks the leg kick nicely there.
Burns dives in and scores a takedown into Blaze's guard. Burns working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Burns throws a big right hand that misses. Blaze pulls Burns in close to prevent any damage. Burns throws an elbow that misses. Blaze uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Burns's guard. Nice move by Blaze! Burns had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Blaze defends it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Burns throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Blaze escapes and throws Burns's legs to the side, diving into side control! Blaze controlling from side mount. Burns manages to work his way to half guard, despite Blaze's best efforts. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Carl Burns. I think Burns has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
