Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcus Crudd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Casey Vell! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Edson Gomes and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vell throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Crudd throws an overhand right that lands on Vell's shoulder, as Vell tries to avoid the shot. Vell scores with a decent looking hook. Vell lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Crudd sprawling to the canvas. Vell follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Crudd hang on?
Crudd is rocked! Crudd is refusing to be controlled, as Vell sits in half guard. Oh Crudd is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Crudd is trying to maintain the position but Vell is very close to passing his half guard. Crudd seems to have got his legs back now. Crudd is trying to get back to full guard. Crudd has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Vell is working away from the top position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crudd strikes from the bottom but Vell uses the opportunity to move to side control.
Crudd manages to work his way to half guard, despite Vell's best efforts. Crudd regains full guard. Nicely done. Crudd pulls Vell in close to prevent any damage. Vell avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vell wants to stand but Crudd is controlling his posture from full guard. Vell must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Crudd escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Crudd looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Crudd manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Vell manages to get himself to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Crudd thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Vell looking to control but Crudd passes into half guard.
Crudd controlling the action here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Crudd prevents Vell from standing back up.
Crudd is taking a breather. Vell says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Vell tries to kick Crudd off but Crudd keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Casey Vell will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Vell misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Crudd throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Vell. Vell misses with an attempted mid kick.

Nice shot lands for Crudd. Vell slips a jab and a cross from Crudd.
Vell throws a left and a right that both miss
and Crudd counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Crudd drops Vell with a huge uppercut! Vell drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Crudd is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
