Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jack Machin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 12 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joe Davis! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Glass and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Machin is looking to clinch but Davis is avoiding it.
Machin with a lazy takedown attempt and Davis counters with an inside leg kick. Machin closes the distance and clinches. Davis misses with a body punch.
Machin takes a shot to the head. Machin gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Davis is trying to stand back up but Machin is controlling him
Davis trying to hold on to Machin's head to control him but Machin postures up.
Davis is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Davis is defending against the submission attempts here by Machin.
Machin wants to free his trapped foot but Davis is holding on for dear life with his legs. Machin missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Machin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Davis gets back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Machin lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Machin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Davis is pulling down on Machin's head to control his posture. Machin throwing strikes from guard but Davis blocks nicely. Davis had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Machin defends it easily. Machin landing with the ground and pound. Machin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Machin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Davis bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Machin's guard. Machin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Machin is trying to control the position from the bottom.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Davis got a little sloppy there for a moment and Machin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Davis has managed to get both his arms back between Machin's legs - danger averted. Machin manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Davis manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Machin cracks Davis with a solid left hand. Machin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davis wants to sweep but no luck. Davis working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Machin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Machin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Davis bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Machin's guard. Machin is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Davis frees his head nicely. Oh but Machin has switched to an armbar! Davis is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
