Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ferdinando Ferrari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Barker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barker comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Way of the Fist - Five Finger Death Punch kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ferdinando Ferrari! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
23 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, William Barker! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barker doesn't manage to clinch there - Ferrari circles away.
Ferrari throws out a token jab with nothing on it. The fight moves into the clinch position. Ferrari throws a punch but it's blocked by Barker. Ferrari lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Barker lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Barker misses with a short punch on the inside. Ferrari wants to get back to striking at distance but Barker won't allow it.
Ferrari tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Barker's elbow. Barker blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Ferrari throws a punch but it's blocked by Barker. Ferrari looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Ferrari throws a punch but it's blocked by Barker. Barker lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Barker breaks the clinch.
Barker bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Ferrari will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Barker fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Ferrari is out of range. Barker ducks under a wild hook from Ferrari.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barker ducks under a wild hook from Ferrari. Ferrari throws a hook to the side of Barker's head but Barker sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Ferrari misses with a leg kick. Ferrari gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Ferrari avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Ferrari avoids the head kick by Barker.
Barker bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Barker takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Barker moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Barker looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Ferrari throws a series of strikes that have Barker backpedaling.
Barker uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ferrari. Barker pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Ferrari checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ferrari throws a body punch but Barker moves out of range. Ferrari throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Barker avoids the body shot from Ferrari.
Ferrari misses with a right hand and Barker counters with a nice low kick that buckles Ferrari's knee momentarily. Ferrari throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Barker was covering up waiting for the punch and Ferrari finishes the takedown easily into guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ferrari throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Barker works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Barker working for a triangle but Ferrari defends it easily.
Ferrari slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Ferrari is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Barker is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Barker tries to buck Ferrari off but Ferrari is having none of it. Ferrari misses with the ground and pound. Barker manages to get back to half guard. Ferrari is just content to waste time from the top position. Barker takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Barker preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Ferrari lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Barker is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ferrari is aware though and is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Barker working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ferrari doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ferrari manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Ferrari wants to control from the top but Barker keeps moving. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ferrari seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Ferrari landing some decent shots from guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Barker looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Ferrari drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Barker manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ferrari has Barker in his guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ferrari fails to land the takedown. Barker throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Ferrari lands a jab to the nose. Ferrari throws a nice inside leg kick. Ferrari shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Barker manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Barker is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Ferrari has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Barker has his foot on Ferrari's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ferrari works his way back into a safe position though. Ferrari tries to free his leg and advance position but Barker is retaining full guard.

Ferrari seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Barker does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Ferrari is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Barker has managed to free his arm - good work. Ferrari looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Ferrari throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Ferrari with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Ferrari landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ferrari slips a nice elbow through Barker's hands, connecting with Barker's forehead. Barker has hold of Ferrari's hands but Ferrari slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ferrari seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ferrari working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Barker is staying active underneath Ferrari, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Barker moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Ferrari throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Ferrari trying to control the position from guard on top but Barker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Barker is fighting to maintain full guard but Ferrari has managed to sneak the leg through. Barker is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ferrari pulls his head out easily. Ferrari seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Barker does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Well, if Ferrari is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Ferrari cracks Barker with a big right hand but Barker just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Ferrari advances position into side control! Ferrari trying to control the action but Barker is working from the bottom. Ferrari sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Barker is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ferrari misses with the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ferrari is looking to take a break and control but Barker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. An elbow from Ferrari crashes against the mat.
Barker tries to buck Ferrari off but Ferrari is having none of it. Ferrari trying to control the action but Barker is working from the bottom. Ferrari is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Barker knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Barker is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Ferrari's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Barker is rocked! Ferrari controlling from the full mount. Barker is still in real trouble! Can Ferrari finish him? Ferrari has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Ferrari lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Barker seems to have recovered his senses. This has been an exciting period of action! Ferrari controlling from mount. Ferrari looking to control but Barker is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

And that's the end of the fight! Ferdinando Ferrari showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ferrari, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
