Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pepe Trueno! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh William! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! William throws a series of punches but Trueno avoids them all with ease. Trueno connects with a good right hand that stumbles William. William circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Trueno scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Trueno lands a nice shot that snaps William's head back.
William falls off balance throwing a combination
and Trueno counters with a straight right hand. William throws a combination. Trueno tries to block but a couple of punches get through. William fails miserably with a takedown attempt. William throws a sloppy head kick and Trueno moves out of range easily. No luck with that takedown attempt from William. William gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Trueno trying to stand up but can't free himself from William's guard. William has his feet on Trueno's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. William takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. William drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. William trying to control but Trueno is working from the bottom. Trueno knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for William on the ground. William thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. William decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Trueno, up you get! William fails to land with a series of punches.
Trueno fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Trueno shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. William eats them both and turns towards Trueno to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. William gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Trueno. William doesn't succeed with the takedown and Trueno cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Pepe Trueno has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Josh William. William looks winded! William shoots in looking for a takedown. Trueno tries to sprawl out of it but William keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Trueno manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. A right-left combo lands from Trueno.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Trueno moves into range and connects with a jab. William will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from William. An inside leg kick lands from Trueno. William misses with a takedown and Trueno cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. A jab from Trueno does it's job there. Trueno keeps the fight on the outside. William fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Josh William seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Trueno digs a good hook to William's body.
Nice shot lands for Trueno. William checks the leg kick nicely there.
No joy there for William, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Trueno lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
William shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Trueno but Trueno pushes him off and we're back to square one. William takes a shot to the body in his stride.

He's pushed William's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Trueno comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. William on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. William is looking to clinch. Trueno lands a lovely overhand right. William closes this distance looking for a takedown but Trueno circles away. Trueno throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent William stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. William shoots in and bounces Trueno off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. William stands up and waves to Trueno to follow him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sloppy strikes from William. Those never looked like landing. Trueno fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. William tries for a takedown but Trueno sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Trueno tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but William was well out of range. Poor timing from Trueno. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! A telegraphed takedown attempt from William is defended easily by Trueno. William throws a head kick that misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Josh William dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Trueno is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. William lands a big head kick that sends Trueno tumbling to the mat! William takes a step backwards and waves Trueno back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Trueno is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! William tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Trueno swivels and escapes. William throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Trueno feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Williams jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! William tries for a takedown but Trueno circles away easily and Trueno counters with a lovely straight right hand! Trueno lands with an uppercut that bounces William off the cage and back into range. William tries to bum rush Trueno with a series of wild strikes but Trueno uses good footwork to avoid the assault. William looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Trueno wants to get back to his feet but William passes into half guard.
William is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

William shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Trueno defends it nicely. Pepe Trueno has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Josh William. Trueno throws a good cross that connects.

This has been an exciting period of action! Trueno is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but William has just dragged him back down to the mat. William wants to control but Trueno is keeping him busy.
