The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Von Matterhorn drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Von Matterhorn missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Von Matterhorn is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Von Matterhorn holds on and takes a little breather.

Wade is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Von Matterhorn jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Wade manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Von Matterhorn tries for a kimura but Wade is defending well.

Wade is not content to let Von Matterhorn control the position.
Wade tries to buck Von Matterhorn off but Von Matterhorn is having none of it.
Wade managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Von Matterhorn.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
You can see the frustration on Wade's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Von Matterhorn swings around for an armbar but Wade sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Von Matterhorn's guard.
Wade is working Von Matterhorn over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Von Matterhorn wants to sweep but no luck.
Von Matterhorn has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Wade is posturing up here but Von Matterhorn has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Wade tries to roll out but it's too tight and Wade has to tap! Slick submission there by Von Matterhorn!
