PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Blow Jimmy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Optimus Prime (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jimmy comes to the cage accompanied by Take a lick. Prime comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Metalingus by Alter Bridge kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prime throws a big shot that misses.
Jimmy looks to score with a jab to the body but Prime is just out of range.
Prime takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Jimmy is trying to stick to Prime's back but Prime is turning into Jimmy. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Jimmy's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Prime.

and Prime counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Jimmy thinking.
Prime tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Jimmy throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Prime cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Jimmy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Prime moves away.
Jimmy misses with a body shot.
Jimmy avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Prime throws a body punch but Jimmy moves out of range.

Prime lands a right hook to the body.

Jimmy swats away the attempt to clinch by Prime.
Prime tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Jimmy manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
The fighters circling - Prime throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Jimmy lands an overhand right.
Jimmy fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Jimmy moves in looking to clinch but Prime pushes him off.

Blow Jimmy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Prime rushes Jimmy and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Blow Jimmy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Optimus Prime.

Prime thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jimmy's head.

Prime is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jimmy defends it well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Prime seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Optimus Prime showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Jimmy closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Prime quickly recovers to half guard.
Jimmy is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Jimmy's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Jimmy is working for a submission of some sort.
Prime is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jimmy's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jimmy's back!

Prime has the hooks in. Jimmy is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Optimus Prime!
A relieved looking Optimus Prime thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
