Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kirk Boon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boon comes to the cage accompanied by Who are you? Come on, goodbye!. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kirk Boon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Donatello Bradman and Skip Squint.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boon shoots and misses
and Martin counters with a two punch combo.

Boon drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Martin seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Boon drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Martin dives on top into guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Martin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Boon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Martin has managed to get both his arms back between Boon's legs - danger averted.

Martin is in close to Boon's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Martin trying to control the position from guard on top but Boon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Martin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Boon works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Boon has his foot on Martin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Martin works his way back into a safe position though.

Martin avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Martin is working Boon over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Boon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Martin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Martin with a flurry of punches that miss.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Boon isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Martin stacks Boon on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Martin!
Boon tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Martin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Boon takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Oh Boon is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Martin scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Boon is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Martin can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

After winning the bout, Steve Martin thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
