Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jim Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Madsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jim Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Madsen! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Madsen paws at him with a jab and circles away. Jones misses with an uppercut. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Madsen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jones swats him away and circles back towards the center. Jones takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Jones looks to score with a jab to the body but Madsen is just out of range. Madsen throws a low kick but Jones avoids it. Mark Madsen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jones tries to close the distance and clinch but Madsen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Madsen on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Jones. Jones obviously looking to wear him down.
Jones blocks a low kick nicely. Jones drives through and clinches with Madsen against the cage.
Jones pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Jones misses with an elbow over the top. Jones's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. A combination from Jones does no damage. Jones clinches up with Madsen and pushes him back against the cage. Madsen stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Madsen pulls guard effortlessly. Madsen controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Madsen swivels though and keeps the full guard. Jones is working hard here to advance position. Jones trying to control but Madsen is working from the bottom. Jones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Madsen is retaining full guard. Jones slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Madsen trying to control the position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Jones shoots in and drives through. Madsen sprawls well. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jones. Madsen ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Madsen to score an easy takedown into full guard. Madsen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Jones escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Madsen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Madsen wants to pass the guard but Jones is keeping the position. Madsen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Jones escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Madsen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Jones looking for a guillotine here but Madsen defends easily.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Jones working for a triangle but Madsen defends it easily.
Madsen is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Jones is looking for a triangle here but Madsen uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones tries to improve position but can't. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Madsen wants to control but Jones is keeping him busy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Jones works his way to full guard. Good work. Jones escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Madsen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jones looking for a sweep. Not yet Jones, not yet. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jim Jones dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Jones checks a leg kick. Jones fails with the takedown. Jones showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Madsen.
Jones keeps the fight on the outside. Madsen connects with a jab. Madsen clinches. Madsen is trying to maintain a safe position but Jones gets an underhook and turns Madsen into the cage. Madsen is stalling here.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Jones takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Madsen manages to pull guard.
Madsen has his hands on Jones's head, controlling the position. Jones postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Madsen is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jones, into his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Madsen has his hands clasped together but Jones extends an breaks Madsen's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Jones.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jim Jones!
