Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Luke Alkofer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Willy Coffey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alkofer kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Jump Jump - Busta Rhymes. Luke Alkofer has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Luke Alkofer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Willy Coffey! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Donatello Bradman and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alkofer shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Coffey as he avoids it easily. Coffey is looking to clinch but Alkofer is avoiding it.
Nice takedown defense from Coffey. No joy for Alkofer on that attempt. Coffey moves in looking to clinch but Alkofer pushes him off. Coffey tries to close the distance and clinch up but Alkofer swats him away and circles back towards the center. Coffey tries to clinch but Alkofer is having none of it. Alkofer tries to score a power double leg takedown but Coffey sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Alkofer somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luke Alkofer. That's going to take a lot out of him. Alkofer shoots in and drives through. Coffey sprawls well. Coffey fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Alkofer shoots in and drives through. Coffey sprawls well. Coffey wants to clinch. Coffey looks for a takedown but Alkofer sprawls well. Coffey throws a quick inside leg kick. Coffey clinches up with Alkofer and pushes him back against the cage. A head punch blocked on the inside by Coffey. Coffey escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Coffey tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Alkofer paws at him with a jab and circles away. Luke Alkofer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Alkofer shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Coffey but Coffey pushes him off and we're back to square one. Alkofer tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Coffey swivels and escapes. Alkofer shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Coffey defends it nicely. Alkofer is breathing heavily. Alkofer dodges the punch combination from Coffey.

Coffey scores with an uppercut up the middle. Alkofer is trying to break the clinch but Coffey has him pressed against the cage. Coffey with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Coffey's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Coffey!
Coffey shoots in looking for a takedown. Alkofer tries to sprawl out of it but Coffey keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Alkofer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Coffey tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Alkofer paws at him with a jab and circles away. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Alkofer. Coffey tries to close the distance and clinch but Alkofer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Alkofer shoots in but Coffey avoids the takedown attempt easily. Coffey rushes Alkofer and presses him up against the cage. A quick uppercut on the inside from Alkofer. Coffey tries to pull guard but Alkofer holds him up against the cage and eventually Coffey drops back down to his feet.
Alkofer breaks the clinch.
Coffey has closed the distance and engaged Alkofer in a clinch.
Coffey lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Alkofer gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Coffey.

Alkofer is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Alkofer has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. A head punch blocked on the inside by Coffey. Coffey breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Coffey tries to clinch up. Alkofer has a takedown stuffed. Coffey tries to clinch up but Alkofer circles away and keeps his distance. Nice sprawl there from Coffey as Alkofer shoots in. Coffey tries to close the distance and clinch up but Alkofer swats him away and circles back towards the center. Coffey tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Alkofer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Coffey tries to avoid it but Alkofer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Coffey to the ground. Coffey escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Coffey doesn't manage to clinch there - Alkofer circles away.
Alkofer misses with a takedown attempt - Coffey sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Alkofer with a lazy takedown attempt and Coffey counters with a shoot takedown. Alkofer fights it but they end up in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Coffey throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Alkofer works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Coffey with a flurry of punches that miss. Coffey throws a big elbow that misses. Alkofer is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Alkofer can't keep his opponent in guard - Coffey advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Coffey working the head and body with strikes. Coffey thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Coffey stops Alkofer from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Coffey landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Alkofer slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Coffey throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Coffey is looking to work some ground and pound but Alkofer has wrist control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Willy Coffey dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
The fight stays on the outside here - Coffey looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Alkofer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Coffey tries to avoid it but Alkofer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Coffey to the ground. Coffey escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Alkofer shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Coffey as he avoids it easily. Alkofer shoots in but no luck this time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luke Alkofer. That's going to take a lot out of him. Coffey displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Alkofer. Coffey fails in his attempt to clinch. Alkofer shoots for a takedown but Coffey saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Coffey rushes Alkofer and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Alkofer wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Coffey drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Alkofer gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Coffey ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Coffey no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Coffey working a defensive guard here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Coffey manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Alkofer can't escape the position.
Coffey lands a big elbow. Coffey postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Alkofer looks a forlorn figure.

Alkofer is rocked! Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Alkofer takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Coffey's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
