PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randal Pritchard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Tourniquet . Pritchard has chosen English Blood, Irish Heart - By Morrissey as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bruce Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Randal Pritchard!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Pritchard, right into the meat.
Pritchard fails in his attempt to clinch.
Pritchard fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lee manages to avoid it.
Lee swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Pritchard jabs Lee right on the nose. Lee blinks but takes it well.
Pritchard slips a straight right by Lee.
Lee throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pritchard displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lee.
Pritchard lands a nice leg kick that just misses Lee's sensitive parts.
Lee bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Pritchard's head.

Lee throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Pritchard tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lee is in Pritchard's guard.
Pritchard seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pritchard bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lee's guard.

Lee is looking for a triangle but Pritchard pushes his legs off easily.
Lee tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Pritchard got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lee has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pritchard has managed to get both his arms back between Lee's legs - danger averted.

Lee is looking for a triangle but Pritchard pushes his legs off easily.

Lee had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pritchard defends it easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lee is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Pritchard is aware though and is defending well.

Lee can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pritchard controls the pace.

Lee working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pritchard doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pritchard manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Lee throws his legs up looking for a submission but Pritchard uses it to pass to side control.

Lee is staying active underneath Pritchard, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pritchard takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Randal Pritchard hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Lee shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pritchard as he avoids it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Bruce Lee will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!


Sloppy strikes from Pritchard. Those never looked like landing.
Lee throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A solid body kick from Pritchard.
Lee throws a jab but it's blocked by Pritchard.
Good exchange - Pritchard coming out on top.


It looks like Bruce Lee has been cut.

Decent striking displayed by Pritchard there.

Pritchard throws a leg kick that misses.

Lee tries to close the distance and clinch but Pritchard swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Pritchard takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Bruce Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Pritchard slips a jab and a cross from Lee.
Pritchard connects with a solid leg kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Pritchard misses with a straight right.
Pritchard staying out of range there.
Pritchard fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Lee has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Pritchard throws a head kick that misses.
Pritchard scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Pritchard lets loose with a powerful body kick. Lee will feel that in the morning.
Pritchard thows a body kick. Lee tries to catch it but that hurt him.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lee walks into a left hand.
Pritchard lands with a thumping leg kick.
Lee on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Pritchard. Pritchard obviously looking to wear him down.
Pritchard lands an overhand right.
Lee fails with an attempt to clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pritchard lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Lee looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Pritchard fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Lee.

Pritchard drops Lee with a beautiful combination! Lee stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Pritchard is looking for the KO!


Lee is rocked!
Pritchard drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Lee right on the button. Lee goes down! Pritchard follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Pritchard gets the win via TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Randal Pritchard!
Randal Pritchard bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
