Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Greg Birch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Disisto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Greg Birch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anthony Disisto!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Franklyn Lucas and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Disisto has a takedown stuffed.
Birch misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Birch drops Disisto with a nice combination! Birch dives into Disisto's guard, looking to finish!

Disisto looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Birch stands up from Disisto's guard - Birch perhaps looking for a knockout.
Nice takedown defense from Birch. No joy for Disisto on that attempt.
Birch misses with a head kick.
Birch throws a nice looking combination but Disisto bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Birch lands a left and a right that sends Disisto crashing to the canvas! Birch dives into mount looking to finish!

Birch's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Disisto wants to control from the top but Birch keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Birch is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Disisto is controlling him.

Disistois looking to pass into half guard but Birch pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Birch is in guard.
Disisto looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Birch puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A jab lands there for Birch.

Disisto shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Disisto showed some decent athleticism there.

Disisto is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Birch to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

Disisto postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Birch is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Disisto, into his guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and Disisto counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Birch lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Birch throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Birch is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Disisto.

and Birch counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Birch steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Disisto.

Disisto works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Disisto is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Disisto won't allow Birch to get back to his feet.

Disisto drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Birch dives on top into guard.

Disisto escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Birch gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Disisto had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Birch is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Disisto Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Birch's back instead.

Disisto is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Birch knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Birch for a finish.

Disisto has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Birch has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Disisto has got his arm under Birch's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Birch has spun round into Disisto's guard beautifully! Well done that man!

Birch gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Birch shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Disisto as he avoids it easily.

Disisto bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Birch wants to get back to his feet but Disisto drags him back down.

Disisto wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Birch, who protects the arm well.

Disisto goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Birch has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Disisto but great work by Birch.

A close second round but Anthony Disisto will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Birch's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Birch goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Birch throws a sloppy head kick and Disisto moves out of range easily.

and Birch makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Birch lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Disisto shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Birch is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Disisto is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Disisto prevents Birch from standing back up.

Disisto is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Disisto wants to work for an arm triangle but Birch is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Disisto is trying to control the action in half guard but Birch is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Birch looks like he's trying to stand up.

Disisto looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Disisto seems to be looking for submissions.

Disisto is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Birch doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Disisto.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Disisto shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Disisto showed some decent athleticism there.

Disisto is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Birch is just riding it out for now. Disisto eventually gives up the hold.

I think Disisto has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
